There are many more benefits to homeschoolong that people don't think about. Regarding the parent-child relationship, teaching your kids new things actually strengthens the relationship. We were always excited to see what we were gonna learn on any given day. You don't have to make a class room, and sit there for 5 hours a day. I take my daughter to the park, and we learn about nature. Or while shopping we will work math skills. As for socialization, I want my daughter to be able to think for herself, and not follow the crowd. Individuality is a rarity nowadays, and it's because it's frowned upon in the public school system.
An article excerpt from the Associated Press:
"Over 2 million children are now homeschooled in the United States. The homeschool movement in this country is growing at an exponential pace......"
"81% of public school students who go on to college need at least one remedial math course to get caught up..."
